This year the Into the Light run looked a bit diff This year the Into the Light run looked a bit different. At the end of April we held a virtual 2 week long event with a goal of connecting people during this difficult time and encouraging our community to stay active. Through an app we were able to check in on and cheer for each other. We were unified by our passion for mental health and were inspired by each participant’s commitment to the cause. We are so thankful to every participant of the event for shining a light on mental health and joining this supportive community.

Throughout the event and for the remainder of the year Into the Light is proudly raising funds for The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and 2NDFLOOR. NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. It is America’s leading voice on mental health and is an alliance of more than 600 local Affiliates and 48 State Organizations who work to raise awareness and provide support and education that was not previously available to those in need. 2NDFLOOR is a confidential and anonymous helpline for New Jersey’s youth and young adults. They help you find solutions to the problems you face and are available for a conversation 24/7 365 days a year. If you’re still interested in donating to the cause, please do at www.intothelightus.com/donate/ Thank you to all who have donated thus far. Your generous donations can save lives!
We’d especially like to thank our top 3 donors: Stratus Technology Services LLC, Louis Mazzini, and Elisabeth Lynch Photography.

Lastly, we’d like to give a special shout out to the Into the Light club at Rutgers University. Although there were no in person events (including classes!) throughout the school year, the executive board of the club spearheaded this event with excitement, passion, and so much drive. This virtual run would absolutely not have been possible without you. We are so thankful for all that you do and are extremely proud of you! @emilyyquick @nataliep0well @jplumaker @lauraaesposiito Ava Braccia @tess_walpole Kate Mushkarova @miaademarco
